Sensitization Workshop for 125 Women and Youth in Benin
On July 1, 2024, the IITA Center in Abomey-Calavi hosted a training workshop, organized by the Youth Initiative for Land in Africa (Yilaa). An initiative effective thanks to the collaboration with the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). It aims to promote the adoption of agroecological technologies among young people and women in Benin with the objective of reducing short-lived pollutants in the production of corn and rice

The workshop brought together 125 participants, made up of young farmers and women, eager to adopt environmentally friendly agricultural practices. For Innocent Antoine Houedji, coordinator of Yilaa, young people and women represent a big opportunity for the continent and in particular for Benin. This is why, he maintains, this training offers useful agricultural tools and practices in order to produce agriculture that respects agroecological standards
